prof. Hans van Elten

After obtaining a MSc in Education, prof. H.C. (Hans) van Elten started working as a principal and head teacher in a Dutch school for Indonesian children. After four years he moved to Ethiopia to work as an education officer on three sugar estates.
From 1974-1996 he was the principal of a Dutch school for kindergarten and primary education. There, he introduced the Dalton system and developed special programs and facilities for young gifted and talented children from age 4 and up.
After finishing his study as a Specialist in Educating the Gifted (ECHA) in 1996, he started on a free lance basis to counsel and guide gifted children and adults with severe social and emotional problems.
In April 2018 the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine conferred him the title of Honorary Professor of Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University.
Anja Belavic

Anja Belavic, MD, is a medical resident at the Croatian Institute of Public Health in School and Adolescent medicine, working at the department for School and Adolescent medicine, Addiction and Mental Health. She studied medicine at the University of Zagreb Medical Studies in English. She began working at the CIPH in March 2017, and has since been involved in projects within Croatia as well as International projects. She is currently part of the Croatian team for the Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children (HBSC) survey, which is a World Health Organization collaborative cross-national survey, where she has been involved in all of the steps of preparation and data collection. She is a part of the Croatian Schools for Health in Europe (SHE) team which is an independent NGO supported by WHO Europe. The aim of this network is to promote a healthy school approach in EU member states. She has begun to work with the Ministry of Educations agency for the training and education of teachers for the SHE network in Croatia. She works on the national program Zubne putovnice, for oral health among school children of Croatia.
